Civil/Structural Design Engineer

The civil design team undertakes the design of wind turbine foundations for all of RES’s wind farms constructed in the UK, Ireland and Sweden. Support in the form of design reviews is also provided to other RES markets in Europe, Australia and North America. In order to continue to grow our foundation design capability, RES is looking for a civil/structural design engineer to complement the existing skills within the civil design team.
The main functions of the role would be:-
Undertake the design of wind turbine foundation systems at tender and construction stages of project development
Coordinate with other disciplines internally and externally to RES to ensure efficient design
Provide technical advice and support to all parts of RES, including overseas markets
Perform advanced structural analysis of non-standard solutions
Develop innovative alternative systems for application to new areas
Monitor and assess work of specialist consultants and contractors
Develop RES’ capabilities in the design of offshore wind farm structures
The person:
The successful candidate will have a degree in civil or structural engineering or equivalent and will preferably be chartered, with the ability to demonstrate:
A proven track record in civil and structural design
An excellent understanding of structural analysis techniques and technologies using a variety of construction materials e.g. structural steel and reinforced concrete
The ability to work within a team and to manage competing demands from RES work around the world
An ability to interface easily with site staff
